MILLING CHIPS
AND WOOD SHAVINGS

Tree trunks that are too big for processing are sawed into cylinders before cutting. The chips created in this process are referred to as milling chips and are characterized by their long, connected fibres.

Wood shavings are used as raw materials in the chemicals industry or
pelletized to generate energy, among other applications. Milling chips and wood shavings are also used to manufacture different types of chipboard in the wood materials industry or as animal bedding in agriculture.
